In recognition of the noble service and sacrifice US Navy SEAL personnel have made in Afghanistan and around the world, Anne and John Wade are proud to introduce the second Climb for Freedom fundraising event on April 26, 2018. Climb for Freedom is a seven day summit of Mount Shuksan (9,131 ft). Our focus is to raise money for SEAL Legacy Foundation programs through the annual climb.
The main focus of the SEAL Legacy Foundation is to help families in need of financial assistance as a result of the death of a family member while serving for their country. Most Americans are unaware that our government does not provide sufficient funds for the families of Navy SEALs left behind when tragedy occurs. The Navy SEALs put their lives on the line during each mission they are assigned. It is up to us to consider providing financial support to the Foundation, which distributes those funds to the families in need.
John Wade was introduced to the Navy SEALs in 2010 when he attended a fund raiser in Washington DC. At that time he began developing friendships with several of the Navy SEALs. In addition, as he researched all that the SEALs do to protect our Nation, he decided that the climb would present a major challenge for him and it would provide a way for him to give back to those who give so much to our country.
John’s wife, Anne, grew up in a Navy SEAL family. Her father served as a Navy SEAL. She saw first-hand the 100% commitment that Navy SEALs give towards keeping the freedom that we cherish as Americans. Through her life she has known families who have lost loved ones through their service. She is dedicated to helping the Foundation through this climb of a lifetime.
Anne and John are requesting your help in supporting the SEAL Legacy Foundation. The challenge of CLIMB FOR FREEDOM is to raise awareness and funds for the SEAL Legacy Foundation.
All proceeds from the CLIMB FOR FREEDOM go to SEAL Legacy Foundation programs.
